The scope includes the construction of a 270,000 square meter building, as well as the purchase and installation of refrigeration and freezing systems, automated conveyors and bar coding, wrapping and loading dock equipment and systems. United States Steel Corp. plans to upgrade the hot strip mill at its Gary Works steel mill in Gary. The scope of the project includes the purchase and installation of equipment and systems to increase the capacity of the hot strip mill for heavy gauge pipe and automotive steel.
