Approximately one in 10 construction workers is a woman. While this proportion may be small, women continue to join the industry every year as sales workers, project managers, security experts and CEOs.
In 2026, women don’t just build; they drive results and work to open doors for others in the industry, acting as leaders, mentors, teachers and advocates.
As part of Construction Dive’s sixth annual Construction Champions program, our editorial team screened 250 entries, looking at each nominee’s project impact, experience, commitment to mentoring and resume. They were nominated in five categories:
Rising Stars — These women are still in the early years of their construction careers, but they have already begun to leave their mark on the sector.
Emerging leaders — These women are the agents of change within their companies and the construction community in general.
mentors — These women help others enter the industry and make the workplace a better place for everyone who works there.
Merchant leaders — These women spend their days using their hands and knowledge to shape the industry.
Industry veterans — These longtime leaders have seen the industry change and evolve, often as a result of their direct influence.
This year’s 30 Construction Champions shine as outstanding examples among the cohort of talented women in the construction industry. Their dedication and judgment help improve diversity, productivity, results and the future of construction.
