A data center construction frenzy and a potentially bigger new highway bill were top of mind for builders during the latest round of contractor earnings calls and financial reports.

Executives from Jacobs, Skanska and Balfour Beatty emphasized the opportunity that artificial intelligence represents. In fact, Turner Construction, the largest contractor by revenue, attributed its record revenue of $29.9 billion in 2025 at least in part to hyperscale data center builds.

On the same issue, however, WSP leaders took a different tack, warning against “AI hysteria” as some investors began to worry that the technology could undermine the business proposition of professional services firms.

On the civil construction side, companies like AECOM and Granite were optimistic about the new surface transportation bill being introduced in Congress. For his part, Granite opined that the amounts being discussed around the bill were significantly higher than the $1.2 trillion Jobs and Infrastructure Investment Act of 2021.

Here’s a full recap of the builders’ most recent earnings calls and financial reports.
