Being included in the ENR Midwest Top Design Firms ranking can serve as a powerful validation and reflection of a firm’s impact in a competitive market. Already, many companies in the 13-state Midwest region have applied to be on the 2026 list.

The ranking is valued in the construction community for its potential to raise a company’s visibility with potential clients and help win new work and increase recruitment and retention by signaling success to top talent. For many companies, the ranking also serves as an internal benchmark used to measure growth, performance and market position against peers.
The ENR Midwest ranking includes design firms doing business in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Rankings are based on total regional design services revenue of participating firms. Design firms will also be ranked by state revenue and various design specialties and disciplines, as appropriate.
