Diving knowledge:

The funding allocates federal dollars to some of the nation’s busiest airports, according to the FAA.

“We are investing in airport infrastructure that keeps travelers safe and airports operating efficiently,” FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford said in the statement. “These grants will help airports across the country meet the demands of today’s travelers while preparing for the future.”

Notable projects include $100 million at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia for runway, taxiway and terminal reconstruction and $39 million for terminal improvements at Indianapolis International Airport in Indiana, according to the award list.

Other packages include $32.5 million at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky and $30.3 million at San Diego International Airport in California, both to rebuild terminals, the release said.

“From our regional hubs to some of America’s busiest airports, we are investing in critical infrastructure that will provide American families with a smoother and more efficient travel experience for years to come,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in the statement. “Improving our track infrastructure is part of our work to usher in the Golden Age of Transport.”
