JCB India is targeting a 15-20% increase in exports in the current financial year, even as the construction equipment maker plans to increase production to around 70,000 units, managing director and CEO Deepak Shetty said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the CONEXPO INDIA 2026 bauma in Greater Noida, Shetty said the company exported around 14,000 units last year to markets including developed economies, with the US accounting for a significant portion. JCB India currently exports its equipment to around 135 countries, including markets in Southeast Asia and Africa.
The company is also looking to increase production by around 15-20% year-on-year to approximately 70,000 units this year, underscoring its focus on both domestic demand and exports.
At the trade show, JCB India introduced 10 new products and showcased 21 machines from its entire portfolio. New releases include the 3DX, 3DX Plus and 3DX Super backhoes, which feature upgrades aimed at improving productivity, fuel efficiency and operator comfort.
JCB said the machines have been designed, engineered and manufactured in India to global benchmarks while adapting to local operating conditions. The company is positioning India as a major manufacturing and export hub for its global operations.
“With fuel costs remaining a key concern for customers, we have further improved the fuel efficiency of our backhoes in the last 18 months,” said Shetty. He added that the company has also focused on ergonomics and operator comfort to make machine operation easier and more productive.
According to JCB India, fuel efficiency across its range of backhoes has improved by 21% in recent years. The 3DX is aimed at excavation-centric applications, while the 3DX Plus offers increased shovel capacity and payload. The 3DX Super has features like standard four-wheel drive and a 6-in-1 shovel.
Beyond backhoes, JCB India is showcasing excavators, the new Agrimax farm machine, generator sets, access platforms and wheel loaders. The company is also demonstrating digital solutions such as JCB LiveLink, Parts Online and a training simulator.
LiveLink enables real-time machine monitoring, predictive maintenance and remote diagnostics, helping customers improve fleet visibility and machine uptime.
JCB India operates six manufacturing facilities in the country and has a network of over 65 distributors and over 700 sales outlets. Its machines made in India are exported to more than 135 countries. (With PTI tickets)
