In addition to consolidating and modernizing the operations of Southeast Toyota dealers, the JAXPORT facility relocates them from Talleyrand Terminal, where they have been since 1968. This $145 million project covered an 88-acre site at Jacksonville’s Blount Island Marine Terminal with nine buildings totaling more than 380,000 square feet, 2 square meters, 272 square meters installation building where new vehicles are processed and prepared for distribution to 177 dealers.
Support structures include an operations building, security booth, car wash, fuel island and body shop, plus more than 400,000 square feet of paved assembly and parking. The facility can process up to 4,000 vehicles per week. Located within a secure marine terminal, the project required a dedicated construction access gate and secure perimeter that eliminated the need for TWIC cards for workers, preserving port security while saving time and cost. To address the poor soil conditions, the team installed more than 4,500 controlled modulus columns while fast-tracking the site work and foundation packages.
