Difference between residential and commercial construction

Construction materials for residential and commercial projects are different. Residential properties are smaller than commercial properties, so the materials used in their construction differ. Residential properties are made of wood, while commercial properties are usually made of cement and steel frames in the US. This is because wood is much cheaper than cement or steel, which allows homeowners to build their homes at a much cheaper cost and save money.

If the wood is well cared for, it is robust. But concrete and steel are much stronger than wood, so commercial buildings have a longer lifespan and are much safer. However, many houses in the US are made of brick and concrete because they are more durable than wood. But this process can be expensive. Construction companies in Calgary or elsewhere make residential and commercial structures.
