This beloved annual event, a celebration of the magic and joy of the holiday season, will honor Mike Fann for his outstanding contributions to the Prescott community.

A prominent figure in Yavapai County since the 1980s, Mike Fann has been an integral part of the Prescott landscape. Although not a native of Arizona, Fann has considered Prescott his home since 1958, when his family moved from St. Louis, Missouri. In 1960, his father and mother began the family business journey by purchasing a backhoe and founding JL Fann Ditching and Excavating. Even as a teenager, Mike joined the family business, nurturing a lifelong passion for construction.

In 1990, Mike Fann bought the family business from his parents, transforming it into Fann Contracting. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest road construction companies in the state of Arizona, headquartered in Prescott, with approximately 335 full-time professionals.

Mike Fann’s commitment to Prescott extends beyond the business realm

He is a devoted family man with two children: his son Jason, now co-owner and president of the Prescott business, and his daughter Audrey, a teacher in California. Alongside his wife Tammy, Mike and his family recently settled into a home in the heart of downtown Prescott, fully immersing themselves in the vibrant community. Mike is also a local philanthropist known for giving back to the community with both his time and treasure. Quote from Mike: “I am humbled and honored by this recognition that the Prescott Chamber of Commerce has given me and my family. I am very fortunate to be able to call one of the best places on earth, Prescott, my home. AZ”.

The annual Prescott Christmas Parade is honored to have Mike Fann as Grand Marshal, a testament to his enduring dedication to Prescott and his significant impact on the community. Under her leadership, the parade promises to be a heartwarming and festive event, embodying the true spirit of the holiday season.

Mike Fann will be honored at the 7th Annual Grand Marshal’s Gala, scheduled for November 30, 2023, at The Grand Highland Hotel. This event will bring together community members, local leaders and friends to pay tribute to Mike Fann and kick off the holiday season in style.

About Prescott’s Annual Christmas Parade

All Arizona Christmas Town events are presented by Desert Financial Credit Union, Friends of the Jersey Lilly and the City of Prescott.

The Prescott Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor, Findlay Auto Group, are proud to present the 41st Annual Prescott Christmas Parade on December 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm in downtown Prescott. The theme for 2023 is “Toys, Trains and Candy Canes”. The annual Prescott Christmas Parade is a beloved local tradition that brings the community together to celebrate the magic of the holidays. Each year, the parade exemplifies the spirit of Prescott and its commitment to creating a magical and festive experience for all.

This year, we are excited to honor Prescott’s 41st Annual Christmas Parade and 69th Annual Courthouse Lighting, both held on the first Saturday in December. From 1:00pm to 3:00pm on December 2, 2023, the Christmas Parade will fill downtown Prescott with floats, marching bands and music, all before Santa arrives. Children can visit with Santa at the courthouse square after the parade until 5 p.m. That night is the illumination of the Palace of Justice from 18:00 to 18:30.

Live Christmas music begins at 5:00 p.m., as attendees await the moment when the Courthouse and the more than 80 surrounding trees come alive with sparkling light. Fireworks sponsored by Craig Brown will follow the lighting and illuminate the Courthouse from above. Once again this year a free shuttle will be offered with parking at Prescott High School.
