A Levante man has died after becoming trapped between a stabilizer bar and a backhoe attached to his tractor Tuesday morning, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Maine State Police were called to a residence on Avenue Road in Levant for a reported death around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday.
When they arrived, Levant Fire and Rescue medics had confirmed Michael Evans, 74, was dead, said Shannon Moss, a spokeswoman for the public safety department.
Officials found Evans pinned by farm equipment behind his home. He was transported to the medical examiner’s office in Augusta, Moss said.
His death is under investigation.
