Pittsburgh police, firefighters and medics rescued a man who was trapped under a backhoe.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, a man in his 60s called 911 from his cell phone after becoming trapped under equipment in the 1000 block of St. Martin around 5:30pm on Saturday. He was stuck on a steep hill.
Police blocked off the road below the embankment to prevent anyone passing by from being in danger from the backhoe and firefighters and rescue crews worked to extricate the man.
The man was alert and responsive when crews arrived, but had to be taken to a hospital to be treated for multiple broken and dislocated legs. He was listed in stable condition.
