Home Depot customer won’t return $20,000 trailer and backhoe: Brooklyn Police Blotter

BROOKLYN, Ohio

Theft: Brookpark Road

On August 25, police were dispatched to Home Depot after an employee discovered a theft.

An arriving officer spoke with the caller, who said that in June, a man had rented a trailer and a backhoe, neither of which were returned.

The total value was over $20,000. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Fraud: Summer Lane

On August 25, a woman came to the police station after discovering a fraudulent listing for a house on Summer Lane.

The woman and her husband went to look at the house. That’s when they learned he wasn’t available.

The woman didn’t lose any money, but she was worried about giving her information to the fraudulent list.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Property damage: Westbrook Drive

On Aug. 25, police were patrolling Westbrook Drive when they discovered a vehicle with a broken back window. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Theft: Brookpark Road

On August 25th, police were dispatched to Menards regarding a shoplifting incident.

An arriving officer spoke with the caller, who said that two hours earlier, someone had stolen numerous camera equipment.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Property Damage: Memphis Avenue

On Aug. 26, a Memphis Avenue resident called police after discovering someone had broken his bedroom window.

The apartment complex does not have surveillance cameras. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Property damage: Westbrook Drive

On Aug. 25, a Westbrook Drive resident called police after discovering someone had broken the driver’s side window of his 2013 Dodge Journey.

The vehicle was located in a parking lot northwest of the apartment complex. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.
