Cory Schubert has been promoted to the role of president of Big-D Construction’s Midwest office in St. Paul, Minnesota, announced the company on January 16.
His promotion comes shortly after the 10th anniversary of the opening of the office, of which Schubert was an integral member of the team as vice president of preconstructionaccording to a statement shared with Construction Dive. He was promoted to vice president of operations in 2016 before becoming senior vice president and general manager of the office in 2022.
Schubert has been invaluable in the rapid growth of the division in Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin, according to the release. Since opening, Big-D Construction Midwest has built over 5,000 housing units and won over $1 billion worth of work.

A graduate of Northern Iowa University with a degree in construction management, Schubert has been involved in Minnesota construction for nearly two decades, including stints with commercial real estate firm Ryan Cos. and Weis Builders, according to his LinkedIn account.
With more than 1,400 employees and average annual revenue of more than $2.5 billion, Big-D Cos. focuses on various sectors including multi-family, commercial, warehouse and distribution centers.
