The professional services company STV has appointed Claire Brinkley as vice president and director of strategic growth for the company’s South/Central transportation group, based in Charlotte. With more than 18 years of experience in the transportation industry, Brinkley, a certified planner and professional engineer, previously led the Charlotte office of a national AEC. In his new role, he will work closely with clients in the Carolinas and drive the company’s strategic expansion into the highway and transit market.

Barge Design Solutions has promoted two employees to senior vice president positions: Karen Cosentinodirector general of people, and Erika Booker, director of marketing and communication. Barça has also risen Carrie Stokeschief of staff, to the executive vice president, while Casey Tyree i Chris Brown have been elevated to senior vice president, retaining their respective positions of director of the private client center and director of the federal client center.

Heather Askins

Skanska has appointed Heather Askins as director of business development for its Raleigh-based building operations in North Carolina and Virginia. With more than a decade of experience in business development and professional engineering, Askins previously served as an integral director at Lynch Mykins, focusing on business development strategies in the same region.

A. Morton Thomas and Associates Inc. (AMT) has hired Robert Williams in its Raleigh office as highway group leader. With 23 years of transportation design experience, Williams brings expertise to projects ranging from intersection improvements to bridge replacements.

Fernandez Fernandez Gil

ANF ​​Group has promoted several executives, including Alberto “Al” Fernandez to the CEO Fernandez has led the company as president since 1992. He began his construction career more than 40 years ago with ANF Group, which was founded in 1981 by his father Alberto Fernandez Sr. Nelson Fernandez has been promoted to president of the Davie, Fla.-based company, bringing to the role a 40-year tenure at ANF, during which he has accumulated experience developing medical and professional office space with a focus on principal in real estate development. Alberto Gil has been promoted to senior vice president. A 38-year veteran of ANF, Gil has managed and completed over 100 projects worth over $2.5 billion in construction revenue.

Fred Gibson

Burns & McDonnell has appointed Fred Gibson responsible for the project control department. He continues to manage the firm’s Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. Gibson joined Burns & McDonnell in 2021, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in leadership, management, strategic planning, process optimization and risk analysis. The firm has also appointed Alex Garland regional manager of its global facilities group. Garland, who first joined Burns & McDonnell in 2019, has more than a dozen years of experience in the food and beverage industry. The company has appointed David Miller to the role of regional manager of its aviation and federal group. A licensed civil engineer, he will provide customer-focused fuel facilities and infrastructure solutions for commercial airports, airlines and federal entities, bringing years of experience in growing and managing projects and personnel in the markets of aviation and federal. Burns & McDonnell has also appointed Don Chase as a program manager in the company’s construction group. After leading the company’s business in Canada, Chase now manages a program with Georgia Power and brings more than 35 years of experience to the company’s Southeast region.

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) has hired jack monroe, establishing the firm’s presence in Orlando. With more than two decades of experience, Monroe will serve as GMC’s healthcare practice leader in the region. The Orlando expansion marks GMC’s continued growth in Florida, with a strategic emphasis on healthcare architecture to further strengthen its ability to support clients and projects in Central Florida.

Dewberry has promoted four staff members in its Raleigh office, including Shepard Hockaday, who has been named executive vice president and operating unit director of the firm’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural practice. Hockaday brings more than three decades of experience to the role, including approximately 15 at Dewberry. The firm also promoted three employees to associate vice president: Lacey Martin, Joe Wolhar i Johnny Wood. Martin, Southeast Regional Marketing Director, brings nearly 15 years of experience to the role. Wolhar, director of the building services structure department in the firm’s Raleigh office, has more than 35 years of experience designing a variety of structural systems. Wood is a leader in the regional education market segment, leading the building engineering group in the Raleigh office with more than 30 years of experience. Dewberry has also hired Damien Di Vittorio as a Senior Project Manager to support the firm’s Resilience and Planning practice from the Raleigh office, providing project management and delivery of resiliency infrastructure planning and analysis.

Lou Hadlow Davis

CROFT & Associates has promoted three employees, all based in Georgia, to partner: Wei Luarchitect in the firm’s K-12 design studio; Amy Hadlow, director of the mechanical engineering department; i Parker Davis, responsible for designing and overseeing the design of the electrical systems that support CROFT’s local and national projects. Lu will oversee the design and construction of educational projects while collaborating with engineers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.

CJMW Architecture + Interior Design recently transitioned to a new ownership and management structure, as well as relocating its offices to Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Tom Calloway i Alan Moorewith the company since the 1970s, completed an internal share transition at the end of 2023. Kathleen Warner, director, assumes the role of president of the firm. The new management team consists of three other managing directors: John Drinkard as financial director, Mike Griffin as office manager and Jeff Sowers as director of architecture. Warner’s selection as chair aligns with her proven leadership and vision for the future, the firm says, while the firm also named new directors and associates.

Dan Christ

Integrated design and build firm AM King has appointed Dan Christ as president Crist assumes overall oversight of the company’s design, construction operations and business development functions along with management coordination. With over 20 years of experience, Crist began his tenure at AM King in 2004 as a project manager shortly after the company’s inception.

Peter Blanc

Walter P Moore has promoted Peter Blanc to the managing director of the diagnostics group in the company’s Charlotte office. With 20 years of experience spanning all facets of diagnostic engineering, including parking lot restoration, enclosure diagnostics and forensic evaluations, White plays a critical role in the evaluation, design and supervision of repairs of structural systems and building envelopes in various types of construction.

Damien Graham

WSP has appointed Damien Graham as a local business leader in the Carolinas, responsible for driving operational growth and leading teams for public and private sector clients. Graham has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, communications and public affairs, most recently as director of communications for the City of Raleigh, managing communications for a 7,000-employee organization with a $1 million budget .
