Athens, Georgia-based real estate firm Landmark Properties is developing a new student housing property near the campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles that combines a new mid-rise with five townhouses existing renovations.
Located a few blocks south of the USC campus, The Standard in Los Angeles will be on the east side of the 160-acre Exposition Park, a public gathering space filled with museums and sports and entertainment venues, including the BMO Stadium and Los Angeles. Memorial Coliseum
“The location boasts remarkable access to academic, sporting and neighborhood facilities, while the size of our site will allow us to offer something truly unique to the market,” he said. Wes Rogers, president and CEO of Landmark Properties, said in the statement.
The Standard in Los Angeles it will consist of a total of 1,284 beds — 1,236 beds in 429 mid-rise units and 48 beds in terraced houses. Plans will range from studios to five bedrooms. Each unit will be connected for high-speed Internet and will include vinyl tile floors, wireless thermostats, in-unit laundry, private bathrooms and kitchens with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops.
More than 60,000 square feet of amenities, one of the largest footprints in Landmark’s portfolio, will include an outdoor rooftop pool with a Jumbotron and grill stations, a rooftop clubhouse and fitness center, multiple study rooms and a inner courtyard with a micro market. Covered parking will be available on site.
The Standard at Los Angeles will be Landmark’s second student development in the market, following The Mark at Los Angeles, which serves UCLA. Landmark’s in-house general contractor, Landmark Construction, will manage the construction and renovation, and The Standard in Los Angeles is expected to open in August 2026.
