In just four months, the Helix Electric team carefully routed a 2,500 amp service from the utility transformer to this 130,000 square meter state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
This effort now provides electricity for the advanced technology and pervasive automation solutions that several companies are using to manufacture cable transportation systems, such as gondolas and chairlifts, as well as other ski resort infrastructure, such as snow machines and snow cats.
Although the project was originally scheduled to take nine months, the Helix team had to complete the work in just four after the sloping walls and steel increased thanks to weather and material delays that reduced the schedule for the electrical scope.
This required 40 to 50 electricians, many working overtime and weekends, to support the general contractor in meeting the critical turnaround date. Precise planning measures and coordination helped the team manage schedules, resources and workflows and also meet the condensed delivery date.
The Helix team engaged in detailed spatial planning to ensure that the electrical systems were integrated into the building design without compromising functionality or accessibility.
