To achieve a modern headquarters that would serve the school district for decades, this project features a two-story, 60,000-square-foot administrative office building for most of the school district’s functional departments, as well as a 220-space parking garage.
The steel frame structure incorporates concrete shear walls and is clad with masonry veneer, metal panel walls and curtain wall glazing systems. Inside, features include conference rooms, work rooms, break rooms, open office areas, private offices, testing rooms, equipment rooms and classrooms.
The team originally planned to build the entire building floor by floor, but had to resequence to account for weather delays. The building has an L-shaped structure with three main sections: two wings and a central area, so the steel workers built the two floors of one section, then the concrete workers and shipbuilders would work in that section while the steel workers moved on to the next section.
This plan allowed the team to make up for lost time and helped achieve an on-time delivery in September 2024.
