Contractors are being sought for a four-year £300m road paving and planning framework in North Yorkshire.
NY Highways, a subsidiary of North Yorkshire Council, has opened tenders for works on the county’s 5,800 miles of road.
The company was formed as a motorway maintenance provider in 2021 by the former North Yorkshire County Council before its change to a unitary authority without the ‘county’ in its name.
A tender warning states that work under the Roads Paving and Planning Framework 2024 will involve recycling, patching, overlays, reconstruction and resurfacing for roads in New York and potentially eight other nearby local authorities.
The framework is divided into four batches, with up to 10 online providers to be nominated for each. It is scheduled to run from next year until 2028.
Three of the lots are based on value ranges with works valued up to £500,000; between £500,000 and £2 million; and between £2 and £6 million.
The other is specifically for recycling and related activities, such as sidewalks or minor drainage and hardware.
The deadline for submitting offers is January 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
Calderdale, Bradford, Wakefield, York, Kirklees, Leeds and the East Riding of Yorkshire are the other local authorities that will potentially have access to services provided through the framework.
Complete details on the framework and tender process are available through YORtender portal.
