The country’s largest housing association is undertaking a procurement process to appoint three suppliers for asbestos removal and remediation.
Clarion Housing Group (CHG), which manages 125,000 properties, is also aiming to select three suppliers for asbestos surveying and air monitoring.
CHG estimated the overall value of the procurement at £50m, in a contract announcement published today.
It added that interested bidders must respond before noon on August 7.
The work, to be carried out in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, will start on 1 April 2024 and finish on 31 March 2034 at CHG’s properties in London , East Anglia, East and West Midlands, the North East and North West.
The most significant of the six lots being offered to contractors is a £15m tender for asbestos removal and remediation works on 64,630 properties in south London within the M25.
