MARSHALL COUNTY (25News Now) – 2 people have been arrested in connection with the theft of an IDOT backhoe in Marshall County
The sheriff’s office says Jace Alldredge, 26, and Amanda Robinson, 30, both of Kewanee, were arrested.
Alldredge was arrested by Chillicothe police on a Marshall County robbery warrant related to an investigation by Henry police. The department also says he was charged with theft of government-funded property related to the alleged theft of the backhoe.
His bond was set at $200,000 on both charges.
Robinson was arrested by Kewanee police on a Marshall County warrant for theft of government-supported property in connection with the alleged theft of the backhoe.
His bond was set at $100,000.
On April 7, the sheriff’s office began investigating the theft of an Illinois Department of Transportation backhoe stolen in the area of Rt. 26 and Rt. 18.
On April 12, the sheriff’s office received information that the backhoe was hidden in rural Bureau County.
With the assistance of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office, the backhoe was recovered and processed as evidence by state police.
