Florida has launched a $ 340 million project to widen Interstate 275 in Pinellas County, the last step of the Florida de Florida of 7 million dollars of the state and a follow -up of the newly completed replacement of the Howard Frankland bridge.
Governor Ron Desantis announced the expansion of Expanda Lane on August 26 at Tampa International Airport with Florida Transportation Secretary, Jared W. Perdue.
The representation shows the planned expansion of the FDOT I-275 in the county of Pinellas, adding two peeled lanes to each direction in 2030.
The project, awarded in early August by virtue of a traditional design design contract to Prince Prince Prince LLC, will add two express lanes in each direction along a section of 7.5 miles north of the center of Tampa.
Fdot said the work includes the reconstruction of four exchanges, at the 38th Avenue N, 54th Avenue N, Gandy Boulevard and Roosevelt Boulevard, more modifications to 14 bridges. The reach also calls for noise barriers and a continuous shared path by Ulmerton Road, which will connect directly to the new Howard Frankland pedestrian and cyclists.
The documents examined by ENR show that the express expansion-lane is scheduled for the phase openings, with a complete completion scheduled for the end of 2030. FDot estimates that, combined with the replacement of Howard Frankland, improvements will generate $ 1.42 billion in regional economic benefits and reduce travel delays by up to 85%.
In addition to shortening the journeys, the agency officials stated that the work is designed to improve the reliability of goods for the Port of Tampa and the I-4 runner, maintaining the role of the I-275 as a hurricane evacuation route.
