Bana Pacific plans to build a renewable natural gas plant on the island of O’ahu. The scope of the project has not been developed, but could include the design and construction of a connector pipe; one or more anaerobic digester tanks; equipment fundamentals; and purchase and installation of measurement equipment, air emission control, process piping, flare, thermal oxidizer, and gas separation, purification, and compression equipment. The plant will have the capacity to produce 2.2 million MMBtu of GNR per year using bana grass as feedstock. The design is expected to be complete by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024; The plant is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2026. The estimated cost of the EPC is $200 million. NORTH CAROLINA
Boom Supersonic plans to expand its Overture Superfactory aircraft assembly plant, which is currently being completed on a 62-acre site at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro. The scope of the project includes the construction of a building of 180,000 square meters; and purchase and installation of manufacturing, machining, assembly, finishing and testing equipment. The expansion will increase assembly capacity at the site by 33 aircraft per year. BE&K Building Group provided design and construction services and partnered with BRPH for the design of the Overture Superfactory. A construction schedule for the expansion is being developed. TEXAS
Vistra Energy Corp. plans to repower its Coleto Creek power plant in Goliad from coal to natural gas. The scope of the project includes the construction of equipment foundations; replacing coal boilers with natural gas burners; modification of combustion control and fan damper actuation systems; purchase and installation of a burner control system, gas piping, flow control valves and support equipment; and demolition and removal of coal handling equipment and other structures. The plant will have the capacity to generate 600 MW of electrical energy. A construction schedule will be developed after funding is received; the project is expected to be complete by 2027.
