San Antonio (Bexar County) — JCBa leading manufacturer of construction, agricultural and industrial equipment, will break ground on a $30 billion manufacturing facility early next year.
The Staffordshire, England-based company announced it will build a 720,000-square-foot facility to manufacture construction equipment on a 400-acre site south of San Antonio. The development will be a fully integrated manufacturing facility, from fabrication to painting and final assembly.
“The growth we’ve experienced in recent years in North America has been extensive and demand for our products continues to grow,” said JCB North America President and CEO. Richard Fox-Marrs. “The decision to expand our manufacturing footprint will bring us even closer to our customers and allow us to further take advantage of market opportunities in North America.”

San Antonio Major Ron Nirenberg said he was pleased to have the “world’s largest privately held manufacturer of construction, agricultural and industrial equipment” join the community.
“Committed to revitalizing American-made products, JCB is strengthening and expanding its American manufacturing network with its new facility,” he said. “We are thrilled that JCB is bringing 1,500 new, quality jobs to San Antonio.”
