JCB, a leading manufacturer of construction equipment, has celebrated 70 years of manufacturing backhoe loaders with the launch of Platinum editions of the 3CX and 4CX models.
JCV’s first backhoe concept was launched by the company’s founder, Joseph Cyril, in 1953 in an attempt to create a single machine combining a front shovel and rear excavator arm. He did this by combining a light backhoe with one Major Loadall tractor loader.
After 20 years, 50,000 backhoes were built and distributed. Now, more than 900,000 have been madeconsolidating JCB as the world leader in the machinery parts market.
“The backhoe is an incredibly versatile machine and thanks to continuous innovation and evolution, it remains as relevant today as the day it was invented,” he commented. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of this historic moment in the company’s history, 70 limited edition 3CX PRO and 4CX PRO machines will be manufactured Platinum Edition models will have servo excavator, Powerslide, air conditioning and two-way auxiliary flow hydraulic controls.
They will wear limited edition platinum decals and grille badging along with platinum colored wheels. In the cockpit, meanwhile, there will be one embroidered graphic on the carpet alongside an upgraded seat material with 70th anniversary branding (which matches a similar 70th logo on the center cap of the steering wheel). Customers who purchase the machine will receive a special Platinum gift pack that comes with the backhoe and will also enjoy a special plaque.
