The new midfield camp at Washington Dulles International Airport was placed with the final structural steel beam. The new Concourse is currently expected to open in September 2026.
Turner Construction Co. and Pgal lead the design design team of the project of 435,000 square meters, which will initially be known as Contest E.
On July 24, the project has 14 doors, the new Tier 2 Concourse is the initial phase of the Metropolitan Washington Airtods Airtods (MWAA) Plan to eventually replace the Concorse C/D 550,000 square meters, originally built in the early 1980’s as a temporary measure to adapt to the rapid growth of Dulles.

Other features include 46,000 square feet of concession space, a 40,000 -square -meter plane club and tunnels for luggage transport systems, electric support vehicles and pedestrian access to other competitions and the main terminal.
Once concourse e is in operation, construction is expected to begin with an expansion of 1,735 million feet at the installation currently designed by HoK. This project requires more than 20 new doors for international outings and arrivals and a new installation of federal inspection services of 176,000 square meters. Mwaa has not yet selected a contractor for the expansion, whose completion will be followed by the demolition of the existing concourse c/d.

No program of these projects has been announced.
Concourse and Infrastructure projects are part of a $ 7 billion scheduled package of installation infrastructure in Dulles that Mwaa expects to complete for the next 15 years. The recently updated Master Plan of the airport also includes a new 10,500-footer 150-foot wide-wide track to the east of the south side of the airport. The runway, which would be the fifth part of Dulles, was part of the original design of the 1950’s at the airport and was approved for the construction of the FAA in 2005.
