Sundt has begun the Kimley Horn-designed Ocotillo Bridge and Highway Extension Project for Gilbert, Arizona. The project will extend Ocotillo Road from Greenfield Road to Higley Road, a 0.85-mile stretch that will cross four waterways by constructing three bridges and a box culvert.
The largest structure, the Ocotillo Bridge, will cross the Chandler Heights Regional Basin, where future phases of Gilbert Regional Park are being designed. More than 6,000 residents submitted comments on the bridge design, which will include two pedestrian bridges with two entrances to the future 272-acre park.
