Anaheim-based Pinner Construction has built a reputation in Southern California as a company prepared to take on high-quality projects that help improve the communities they serve. The company has recognized the need in Southern California for new and modernized public facilities and has built a reputation in various sectors of the public market, including civic, educational and public safety facilities.

Pinner Construction has been chosen as ENR California’s 2024 Contractor of the Year.

The company’s approach is paying off after taking a step back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pinner officials say the company has remained nimble by using alternative delivery methods and developing a strong team of contractors.

Last year, the company’s revenue topped $182 million, a nearly 10% increase on and above the company’s pre-pandemic high.

Some of the key projects the company has been involved in include:

  • Port of Long Beach Fire Boat Station 15 and Station 20 – In the past four years, Pinner has delivered two of these innovative and sustainable dual-use facilities. Station 15 was the ENR California Best Project Winner of 2022.
  • City of Los Angeles Rancho Cienega Sports Complex: An updated 49,000 square foot LEED Gold facility that includes a new indoor pool, fitness center and support space for use by local residents.
  • Los Angeles Unified School District, Comprehensive Modernization of Grant High School: This ongoing $144 million project calls for the demolition of 11 permanent buildings and 12 relocatable buildings, and in their place six new buildings and a central plant

Building quality projects that help communities are just one part of Pinner’s “give back” approach. The company has worked with small businesses and disabled veteran businesses, employing community members on our projects and partnering with our clients to improve the lives of people in the trades.

Pinner has awarded more than $265 million in subcontracts to SBE over the past eight years. In addition, they have provided employment opportunities for local residents on our projects resulting in more than 325,000 hours annually. The company achieved a 70% local rental participation rate for Dale Jr. High School. from Anaheim Union High School.
