Recruited in Sundt in 2012 by an ex-polisa, Labuff constantly advanced through multiple promotions and increased responsibilities in the face of his current role, leading a team that manages the data from the contractor’s data.
From the Tempe Office, Labuff Heads Spearheds to improve the security and quality of data while improving data literacy throughout the signature. It was recognized as a support for Sundt MVP with a prize in 2023.
Labuff says his ability to solve the void between construction operations and has been key to his success. “It is often seen only as the team that ensures that emails are passing and computers remain in operation,” he says. “But in fact, it can be a strategic partner in promoting efficiency, automation, data data and productivity improvements. It can collaborate in solutions that have a real impact, either streamline work flows, improving decision -making or automating repetitive tasks.”
Dan Howard, Vice President of Information Technology, calls Labuff in Unicorn. “It has a unique capacity that allows it to be very technical, but it also understands the business and is able to translate technology for end users,” he says.
Labuff is proven to successfully manage the migration of Sundt from its ERP and Human Resources systems and the development of applications of internal companies such as monthly progress reports, projects management and GO/NO-go applications. He also established a data warehouse and a data strategy team that has gone from two members to nine for the last three years. “It had a lot of people involved early so that they could fully understand how the final result of the data warehouse might seem,” says Howard.
Labuff established and leads the Sundt Data and Information Governance Council, which supports the contractor’s commitment to become a more data-based organization. “Data security, quality, accessibility and compliance are critical, but it is to maintain flexibility to boost innovation and provide value to our customers,” he says. “In order for the data to be really useful, it must be accurate, reliable and trustworthy.”
In the face of, this work is key to the future AI initiatives, according to Labuff. “It is not just about having data, but also of guaranteeing that we have the appropriate definitions, context and structure so that our equipment can understand and use them efficiently.”
Labuff also works with a team that improves the work balance and life of Sundt building employees, “we promise to help find some solution to provide better support and measure the impact of these efforts through surveys and person connection,” he says. “This initiative is approximately more than data, it is to make real changes that improve the well -being of our workforce.”
Outside the office, Labuff is kept occupied to keep up to date with its young twins, volunteering for various food banks and helping the Sundt Foundation to organize community events. In addition, she and her husband have sponsored a charity walk for Patriots of the Pines, an organization that offers outdoor and therapeutic activities for veterans.
“He is one of the most humble human beings I have met in my career,” adds Howard. “It has flourished in recent years and its future is unlimited … I am honored to be part of its mission and leadership journey.”
