The mission of the $ 114 million public project was to reinvestment at East Knoxville, Tenn., And to create a vibrant and mixed destination that anchored the eastern edge of the city center. Designed for community use throughout the year, the stadium serves as a headquarters and as a shared public asset.
The surrounding development includes improvements to the infrastructure, such as the high voltage power that was again rounded off in underground behaviors, high condominis of mixed use and commercial space.
A pedestrian bridge, which was a critical design element, allows a complete 360 -degree enclosure without compromising a neighboring cove or its existing cultivation. Deep caissons were installed to support the dim -shaped marker 130 feet wide on the wall of the cove, without loading the structure below.
The excavation revealed more than 6,200 tons of underground artifacts and culturally significant cultural artifacts. Rock was recycled and reused in the site to refill it. Artifacts were preserved to pay tribute to the heritage of the neighborhood.
The project was completed before the calendar in 22 months and below the budget.
