Crews performed maintenance, repairs and upgrades to Utah Transit Authority infrastructure and facilities along the Wasatch Front between North Ogden and Spanish Fork. Under the scope of this project, the team completed 135 individual task orders between January 2021 and October 2024.
This work included grade crossing replacements, bus maintenance facility rehabilitation, rail replacements, crossing and tie replacements, operator relief building installation, bus stop construction, basic track maintenance, insulation joint installation and a variety of concrete slabs. The contractor also installed two types of bus charging systems, including pantograph type chargers and plug-in chargers, both of which required the installation of all necessary infrastructure and base components.
Limited work windows posed the biggest challenge for crews and material deliveries. The contractor scheduled crews around the clock to minimize impacts to UTA customers. Hourly work schedules detailed all activities in each task order, ensuring service was restored at or before the scheduled return to service time.
