Completed on time and under budget in June 2024, this 87,750 square meter warehouse ensures that Amazon customers in rural areas receive the same level of service as those in metropolitan centres.
Facilities include office space, employee break rooms and restrooms that support daily operations, plus a 35,589 square meter launch pad that provides a sheltered stage for vehicles and packages.
The project also included extensive site infrastructure, from a new public road connecting Federal Way to Table Rock Road to traffic signal modifications, utilities and landscape improvements.
The site’s existing soil already had little resistance, but the situation was exacerbated by heavy rains, creating muddy and unstable ground that complicated logistics, deliveries and access to the site.
As part of the project’s ground improvement strategy, crews installed geo-aggregate piers in the building’s deck and deck areas and implemented cement-treated floors throughout the building’s deck, canopy, parking lot and driveway areas, ensuring the foundation could safely support the construction crew and the completed facility.
The project achieved over 76,000 hours of work with zero recordable incidents or lost time.
