Concord, Calif.-based Swinerton begins another executive shakeup.

Company veteran and current Chief Revenue Officer Don Adair will do so retire on January 9, 2026according to a press release. Adair joined Swinerton in 1988, starting as a project engineer in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

As time went on, Adair changed responsibilities: He was responsible for the growth of Swinerton Builders’ San Diego office, which eventually led to his appointment as executive vice president and CRO in 2019, according to the builder.

Swinerton is made up of Swinerton Builders, timber subsidiary Timberlab, concrete builder SAK Builders and national investment firm Lindgren Development.

Adair will be succeeded by Chris Chany, according to the announcement. Chany joined Swinerton Builders in 2013 as a project manager in the Austin, Texas office before moving to San Diego in 2018, where he joined the National Accounts team, of which Chany is currently a director, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Adair and Chany worked with each other for nearly a decade, according to the release. They cooperated in the transition once news of Adair’s retirement was shared internally with employee-owners in June.

“I am honored to take on this role and continue to build on Don’s framework,” Chany said in the statement. “Our focus will continue to build strong relationships, deliver extraordinary customer experiences, and drive growth for our teams and customers.”

This isn’t the only executive move the company has made recently: The company announced that William Silva will become its new director of national solid wood on December 11. Silva is also tasked with creating its solid wood center of excellence, an initiative that would help the company integrate more closely with its solid wood subsidiary, Timberlab.
