An affiliate of Tutor Perini was awarded two contracts across California worth $408 million last month.

Rudolph and Sletten, a Los Angeles builder unit, was awarded a $155 million contract to build the new Diego Rivera Performing Arts Center on the City College of San Francisco campus, according to a Dec. 17 announcement.

As part of the scope of work, the contractor will construct an approximately 78,000-square-foot performing and musical arts building, according to the news release. The structure will include a 631-seat main performing arts center with an 80-foot-tall concrete flying tower and a 90-seat fixed recital hall. In addition, it will include a scene shop, rehearsal spaces and classrooms for costumes and music.

Construction began in December 2025, according to the announcement, with substantial completion expected in the fall of 2028.

Guardian Perini also announced that subcontractor Rudolph and Sletten had won a $253 million contract for the expansion of the central utility plant at the UC Davis Health Campus in Sacramento, Calif., according to a Dec. 18 news release. Under the contract, the team will construct a two-story, 32,000-square-foot CUP annex building, which will include plant operations and support space for hospital operators, along with the expansion of normal and emergency electrical services, including three 3 MW generators.

Rudolph and Sletten will also renovate the central floor of the existing campus. The work includes, according to the press release:

  • Improvement of the existing cooling and hot water systems.
  • Reconfiguration of the electrical infrastructure.
  • Expansion of the capacity of the diesel system.
  • Updates to industrial controls.
  • Reforms of the control room and existing administrative spaces.

Construction is underway, according to the announcement, with substantial completion expected in the fall of 2027.
