North Carolina

AbbVie Inc. plans to build an estimated $1.4 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing campus on a 185-acre site near Research Triangle Park in Durham. The scope of the project includes the construction of a building space with production space, laboratory, offices and warehouse; clean room equipment; and purchase and installation of stainless steel piping, fume hoods, conveyors and testing, air handling, sterilization, filtration, aseptic filling and finishing, labeling and packaging equipment and systems. South Carolina

Santee Cooper plans to build a natural gas-fired simple-cycle power plant at its Winyah coal-fired plant in Georgetown. The scope includes the construction of building spaces and equipment foundations; structural steel assembly and three fuel oil storage tanks; installation of two simple cycle combustion aeroderivative turbines and generating sets, water treatment and storage systems, cooling towers, transformers, switchgear and emission control equipment. The plant will have the capacity to generate 80-120 MW of electrical energy. Sargent & Lundy has been selected to provide engineering services. Texas

X-Energy LLC plans to build a small modular reactor nuclear power plant at Dow Chemical’s basic and specialty chemicals plant in Seadrift. The scope includes the construction of building spaces and equipment foundations; installation of four SMR reactors; and purchase and installation of cooling towers, energy storage systems, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, switchgear, air emission control and other equipment. The plant will have the capacity to generate 320 MW of electrical energy using high temperature gas reactor technology and patented tristructural isotropic particle fuel. Fluor Corp. has been selected to provide front loading services for the second phase.
