A 6- to 10-inch piece of concrete fell from the overpass after the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A truck carrying a backhoe crashed into an overpass on the 50 Freeway in Rancho Cordova Wednesday morning, dislodging a chunk of concrete, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The unsecured backhoe bucket struck the west shoulder of the Bradshaw Road crossing at about 8:20 a.m. while the semi truck was traveling east on the highway. A 6- to 10-inch piece of concrete came off the 15-foot, 2-inch overpass and a “small amount” of oil spilled from the backhoe onto the underside of the crossing and a vehicle traveling behind the truck, according to a CHP news release.
No one was injured and no lanes were closed following the collision.
