Balfour Beatty is preparing to begin construction at the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Hotel, a development of 996,130 square meters that will serve as the central anchor of the city’s Convention Center District. Approved by voters in 2018, the project will serve as the first Grand Convention Hotel of Miami Beach next to and connected with the recently reformed Miami Beach Convention Center.
The construction service contract, valued at $ 385 million, calls for Balfour Beatty to deliver a 17 -story hotel of 800 rooms designed for a joint company by local developers Terra Group and Turnberry, Balfour Beatty announced on April 29. The start of the Miami Beach Grand Hyatt project comes when Balfour Beatty approaches the Broward’s 1.2 million $ 1.2 million conventions and the hotel’s expansion in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to adding more than 525,000 square meters of meetings and events, the project includes a new omni hotel of 29 floors, 800 bedrooms and a central energy plant of 36,000 square meters.
