In theory, digital technology should bring data together, and yet, in many cases, it is creating more disconnects – complicating the design, coordination and construction of projects.
The challenge is that we have a lot of good stuff, namely data. This data comes from many sources in different formats. Gathering this data is a hurdle that can be difficult to overcome.
In a recent Quick Immersion WebinarTiffany Willard, Territory Sales Executive at Revizto, discovered the top six ways an integrated collaboration platform can help turn chaos into a calm business, leading the world to switch to Revizto. In case you missed it, here’s the recap.
#1. Support infinite file size
Many of today’s solutions are built to create 3D models, and there is certainly intelligence involved. Revizto is based on a game engine that facilitates the handling of graphics, physics, audio, artificial intelligence and user input. With this core set of tools, Revizto is able to process, open and navigate large amounts of data, and greatly simplifies model management. mortenson was highlighted as a case study example where Revizto was used to coordinate large projects and lots of data from multiple sources.
#2. Automated issue tracking
Even the most organized digital workflows often struggle with tracking issues. Revizto’s issue tracker connects all relevant information in one place for fast resolution. Each number has its own unique identifier with title, type, assigned status, priority level and deadline. Within these issues, it’s easy to link screenshots, 2D drawings, and 3D models. MP Lundy case study was highlighted as an example of how customers are realizing the benefits of Revizto for automated issue tracking.
#3. Democratized shock detection
Traditional crash detection tools tend to be plug-ins that, in many cases, haven’t changed in 15 years or more. They are complicated, require high-performance computers, and are not accessible to all members of the project team (eg, project managers, field teams, owners, and stakeholders). It’s a critical digital workflow that often leads to siled information. Revizto comes with a built-in device Shock automation tool that can perform sophisticated automated crash tests on files, objects, and point clouds. Users can even adjust their crash criteria to automatically detect and assign crashes to the right people with all predefined specs and stamps at the click of a button. Revizto democratizes clash detection: an individual no longer needs to federate a model and assign clashes. Trades can also do their own class tests and work out problems before the next coordination meeting.
#4. Mobile access
Job progress monitoring is largely handled by superintendents and foremen who spend hours managing a job, and the benefits of BIM are limited. Revizto’s mobile apps allow field teams to access models, drawings and feedback directly from job sites, even without Wi-Fi, on tablets and smartphones. They can add tags, photos and comments directly to the system. When the system comes back online, the data is automatically synchronized.
#5. Point cloud accessibility
Laser scanners are becoming more affordable and many companies are taking advantage of the ability to gather large amounts of data as needed. The challenge is managing these massive files. Revizto and its game engine make it very easy to visualize point clouds along with 2D and 3D data. You can even run Clash Automation against a point cloud within the software.
#6. Dashboards and automated reports
In today’s increasingly digital environment, communication and coordination occurs through a number of different tools and solutions. Many organizations still use manual reporting. With Revizto, users can automate reports and dashboards to track project progress and make that information accessible not only to the project team, but also to owners and stakeholders.
