Jim Contract

Jim Contract has joined SM Wilson & Co., a construction management, design-build and general contracting firm with offices in St. Louis and Edwardsville, Illinois, in the newly created position of executive vice president of project development and strategy. Contratto is responsible for leading and coordinating business development efforts, developing and executing strategies to identify new opportunities, establish strategic partnerships and position the company to be selected by new target customers.

Henderson Cos., Lenexa, Kan., has appointed Jon Runyan president of its subsidiary Henderson Building Solutions, a national design-build construction management and commissioning company. Runyan will lead day-to-day operations and execute on the company’s strategic vision.

Jeff Berglund has been named president of Chicago-based Berglund Construction. A fourth-generation family member, he will guide the strategy, operations and growth of the entire company, working closely with the CEO Fred Berglund. The general contracting company was founded in 1911 as a masonry repair and restoration company. In addition, Alex Lulinski has been named senior vice president of the building division and Scott Giba has been named vice president of preconstruction and development.

Steve Heyne has been promoted to senior vice president of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, office of Miron Construction Co. He is responsible for the development, growth and progress of client relationships in the region, as well as strategic oversight of project planning, budgeting and construction. He also leads and supports a team of 20 people. The company has also hired Adam Clifford as chief information officer in its corporate office, where he will oversee the company’s information technology strategy, infrastructure and operations.

DesignGroup, which has an office in Columbus, Ohio and an office in Pittsburgh, has appointed Travis Tyson principal and leader of the healthcare market. Tyson will focus on strengthening existing customer relationships and forging new connections in the Midwest.

Nick Naeger

Lawrence Group, based in St. Louis, has hired Nick Naeger as an associate director and senior project manager of its student housing practice.

Fargo, ND-based RDO Equipment Co. has appointed Kelly Kress financial director, Adam Gilbertson senior vice president and Anthony Saraceno vice president The company, which entered the construction business in the late 1980s, sells construction, environmental, irrigation, positioning and surveying equipment.

Pete Kraus

KAI 360 Construction Services, with an office in St. Louis, has hired Pete Kraus as project manager. Kraus previously was a construction engineer for Gonzalez Cos., based in St. Louis.

Messer Construction Co. has promoted 11 employees to senior management. Jason Adamsbased in Knoxville, Tenn.; Alex HoonLouisville, Ky.; Mike RobinsonCincinnati; Zach VanamanColumbus, Ohio; i Brad WestGreenville, SC, have been promoted from Senior Project Manager to Project Executive. Andrew ArataCincinnati and Mitch HayesIndianapolis, have been promoted to building systems executives. In addition, Kelly ColeDayton, Ohio and Marc MiracleNashville, Tenn., have been promoted to senior general superintendent; Marty AlterCincinnati, to the security executive; i Gautham PrasadCharlotte, to a virtual construction executive.
