The Associated General Contractors of America and NCCER have published the Survey of workers 2026. Survey data indicates that while some market conditions have eased, labor shortages continue to affect projects. Demand is also felt unevenly across different segments of the industry.

Excerpt from the press release:

NCCER officials noted that addressing the labor shortage will require the industry to focus not only on attracting new workers, but also on developing and retaining them.

“As contractors explore ways to future-proof their workforce, it is critical that the industry take a holistic approach to workforce development,” said Boyd Worsham, NCCER President and CEO. “From recruitment and training to retention and advancement, we must commit to investing in our people and making construction a career of choice.”
