Skanska, developer and contractor based in Stockholm, Sweden has hired a new CFO and executive vice president, the company announced Thursday.
Jonas Rickberg will take over as CFO no later than January 31, according to a statement. Rickberg is currently the CFO and Executive Vice President of Scania Group, a heavy commercial vehicle subsidiary of German manufacturer Volkswagen, based in Södertälje, Sweden, where he has worked for almost 20 years. Before that, Rickberg had spent five years at Volvo.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree in medical science from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and a master’s degree in business administration from the Gothenburg School of Economics, Sweden.
“I’m really looking forward to joining[ing] Skanska at such an exciting time in the company’s journey. Together, we will build on the strong financial foundation, achieve long-term growth and continue to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in the industry,” Rickberg said in the statement.
Rickberg will replace current CFO Magnus Persson, who announced this in April he would leave officebut he has stayed on while the company searched for his replacement. Persson has worked at Skanska for 18 years and has been the company’s CFO since 2018.
Persson is leaving to join Evroc, a Stockholm-based information and technology company building what it says will be Europe’s first secure, sovereign and sustainable hyperscale cloud.
Before Rickberg steps into the position, Pontus Winqvist, senior vice president of the corporate finance and control group, will serve as chief financial officer effective Sept. 1, according to the statement.
