The Tennessee Builders Alliance celebrated breaking ground on the $2.1 billion New Nissan Stadium future home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titansaccording to a news release from Turner Construction.

The the construction group consists of de Turner, based in New York City; Indianapolis-based AECOM Hunt; Brentwood, Tenn.-based Polk & Associates Construction; and Nashville’s own ICF Builders and Consultants.

Construction crews placed more than 12,400 beams totaling 18,000 tons of steel and poured approximately 98,000 cubic yards of concrete for the 1.8 million square foot stadium structure. To date, the project team has logged 3.6 million hours worked by approximately 1,800 on-site workers each day. Over $110 million has been paid out Disadvantaged business enterprisesaccording to the release from Turner, which represents nearly 100 women- and minority-owned small businesses.

Through more than 120 community engagements and job events across Middle Tennessee, the project team connected local residents to construction careers.
