
Volkert was the main engineering firm of the IH-35 of $ 107 million in the reconstruction of SH 123 Intersection in San Marcos, Texas, which is part of the large I-35 I-35 reconstruction program, which includes the sub-construction of $ 607 million I-35 Capex North Project and $ 3 million I-35 Capex Project Central, both projects for which Volkert is a main design company.

A century in business is not the only one to celebrate Volkert in 2025, as the ENR publishing team has named the Mobile, Ala -based, The Enr Texas & Louisiana Design Firm of the Year.
Volkert, owned by employees, increased their income throughout the board last year, now with about 1,500 employees to 60 offices from 25 states. One of these employees, Trevor Reed, Vice President and Director of Engineering, based in Texas, was appointed in the inaugural class of Texas and southeastern young pros in 2024.
The firm also won a regional award for the best Enr Texas and Louisiana project in 2024, for the Wharf project on Nashville Avenue, which won the best project in the airport/traffic category.
Volkert continues to work on the main regional projects, including the central and northern sections of the IH-35 Capital Express project in Austin, Texas, providing engineering design services for the project, which aims to improve safety, mobility and connectivity in the center of Austin. In San Marcos, Texas, Volkert designed the iH-35 exchange exchange of $ 107 million completed and is the main design firm for $ 831 million reconstruction of two major exchanges in Beaumont, Texas.
The firm also makes waves in the community. At the end of last year, the firm was named at a 600 gallon aquarium at South University Alabama in his hometown, after a $ 150,000 gift between Stokes School of Marine and Environment and his College of Engineering.
