The UAT-SPIDER was manufactured by a Ukrainian defense company with years of experience in developing armored vehicles for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The armored excavator confirmed its declared characteristics and capabilities during the tests.

The vehicle is mainly intended for the preparation of positions and command posts, as well as for the construction and restoration of military roads. It can also be used to build temporary roads, dig ditches and pits, remove dirt, build embankments, and perform other earthmoving and landscaping tasks.

The UAT-SPIDER is also designed for operations in small and hard-to-reach areas, where maneuverability is important for engineering work. The vehicle is based on a foreign-made multi-functional backhoe, with the design maintaining an emphasis on ease of maintenance, availability of spare parts and consumables, and ease of operation.
