Work continues to improve maritime access and infrastructure at the Port of Figueira da Foz with the reinforcement of rock extraction operations in the navigation channel.
Since this Monday, the giant Simson backhoe dredger from Van Oord has been in operation, working alongside a barge with a capacity of 2,800 m³.
The project will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and work is scheduled to end on October 15.
According to the Port, this reinforcement of the equipment allows a significant increase in the rock extraction capacity and reduces the time in which the available space of the dock is restricted, thus minimizing the impact of this work on the port operation.
