The New York Chapter of Professional Women in Construction launched its 2024-2025 Scholarship Program.
Applications must be submitted March 31 to the non-profit organization that supports and connects professionally minded women and works to promote diversity within architecture, engineering and construction. Recipients will be notified in early May.
The PWC NY Scholarship Program will recognize six students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the construction industry with a one-time award of $2,500 each, which will be provided directly to their college or university for the cost of tuition. The scholarship is open to full-time graduate students or seniors in an undergraduate program in New York City beginning in the fall semester of 2024.
“There are so many opportunities for young women today in construction and related fields,” Regina Rivera, executive director of PWC NY, said in a statement. “We can provide guidance and resources to help them on their way to a successful career.”
Each winner will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the PWC NY Chapter, which includes access to all committee and members-only events, and will be invited to the PWC Salute to Women of Achievement celebration in September.
The PWC Scholarship Program was created in honor of Lenore Janis, the PWC founder and past president to encourage and support the next generation of women in AEC.
