GELANG PATAH: A motorcyclist died on the spot after hitting the back of a backhoe on Friday (August 28) morning.
The incident happened at 8.40am at Jalan Tanjung Kupang near Jalan Persiaran Laman Setia 2 at Laman Setia Utama, Setia Eco Garden near here.
“Eight firefighters were deployed to the scene of the accident,” Iskandar Puteri Fire Station Operations Commander Mohd Zaki Ismail said in a statement.
He said the team reached the accident site, about 10 km from the station, at 8.51am.
Zaki said the accident occurred when the 27-year-old victim crashed into the backhoe, which was trying to move in the right lane.
“The victim suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead by a medical team from the Ministry of Health,” he said.
The body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation ended at 9.35 am, he added.
