Action Construction Equipment (ACE) has received an order from the Border Roads Organization (BRO), under the Ministry of Defence, for the supply of 74 4×4 backhoes, the company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday (September 30).
The order comes as ACE looks to expand its presence in the defense sector. The backhoes will be supplied to the BRO, which is responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads and other infrastructure in the border areas.
ACE said the order is part of its efforts to expand its defense business and is aligned with the government’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
The company manufactures construction equipment, including cranes, earthmoving machinery and other equipment used in infrastructure and construction activities.
ACE work with the Ministry of Defence
The latest order follows ACE’s previous business with the Ministry of Defense (MoD).
In February 2025, the Ministry of Defense signed contracts worth ₹697.35 million with ACE and JCB India for the procurement of 1,868 Rough Terrain Forklifts (RTFLTs).
The trucks were intended for the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy and were to be manufactured under the Buy (Indian) category. The purpose of the acquisition was to support defense logistics while increasing the use of Indian-made equipment.
