On April 1 at the North American Steel Construction Conference in Louisville, Ky., Atlas Tube launched its HUB HUB connections, a cloud -based engineering resource suite designed to simplify the design of empty structural connections for structural engineers and steel manufacturers.
Users can register on the web-based service for free at Connectionhub.atlastube.com. Steel connections and the best way to make them may require time for engineers involving shearing and flexion interaction and other calculations.
Replacement of calculation -based calculations with a tool that has codes and formulas of the American Institute of Steel Institute (AISC) could save time.
“By providing HSS Connection Calculations and Calculations for Manufacturing, the Center for Connections fills a gap for engineers looking for HSS benefits in their designs,” said Jeff Cole, President of Atlas Tube. “We will continue to grow resources at the Center for Connections so that engineers and steel details have a source of trust for easier HSS connections designs and reduce costs throughout the construction process.”
The Hollow Atlas Tube steel sections also presented themselves to an AISC demonstration project at the conference, with a 3D printed steel pedestrian bridge with final connections that were made in addition through the direct method of metal laser singer and sections were HSS Atlas.
