For more than a dozen years, ENR has run its Global Best Projects competition inviting project teams from around the world to submit proposals in various sectors. These projects are then reviewed by industry veterans to identify the teams behind the outstanding design and construction efforts of the past year.
This year, the judges examined and analyzed the safety performance, innovations, teamwork and excellence of 111 submissions, one of the highest numbers the competition has had in any given year.
This year’s winners include 32 projects located in 21 countries on every continent except Antarctica. These high-profile examples show the risks, rewards and obstacles that are overcome when designing and building internationally. All selected projects will be highlighted in more detail in the December 14 issue of ENR. In addition, this special issue will indicate which of the winners will win the coveted title of Global Project of the Year.
None of the entries could be considered for recognition if they had construction-related fatalities, and construction had to be completed between January 2025 and May 2026.
The jury had discretion to designate the best selections as winners of the best global projects in a variety of categories and could choose the winners of the Award of Merit as it saw fit. Learn more about the judges in the December 14 issue of ENR.
