Holt joined the Providence, Rhode Island-based company in 2012 as vice president and business unit leader of its Maryland office, according to the release. In 2021, he was promoted to senior vice president and in 2023 began overseeing the Baltimore and Washington offices.

Holt led the company’s growth in the region and led its move to its current office in downtown Baltimore, according to the release. While there, he tripled the office’s revenue and helped Gilbane become the second largest builder in the Baltimore region. Notable projects Holt has worked on include:

“Ted’s proven leadership in the Baltimore-Washington corridor, coupled with his unwavering commitment to our clients’ success, make him an ideal fit for this role,” said Paul J. Choquette III, regional president of the Gilbane’s Mid-Atlantic division. “We are excited to scale Ted’s leadership across the entire Mid-Atlantic footprint.”

Before joining the builder, Holt spent nearly 20 years as director of building construction at Rockville, Md.-based Davis Construction, according to his LinkedIn. He has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in the same field from Arizona State University.
